Rezvan Akbarimanie

Rezvan has spent [16] years helping people find their words — in hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centres, private clinics and university classrooms. That range shapes how she works. A child who is hard to understand at three, a family navigating an autism diagnosis, a student whose reading isn't keeping pace, a child who stammers and has started to avoid speaking: each needs something different, and she has met all of them.

Her clinical focus includes speech sound disorders, developmental language disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering, literacy, hearing impairment, and communication support for autistic children.

Rezvan works as closely with parents as she does with children. Much of a child's progress happens between sessions, so she coaches families and caregivers in strategies they can use at the dinner table, in the car, and at bedtime — not only in the therapy room. She also collaborates with teachers and other professionals when a child's needs reach beyond the clinic.

She holds a Ph.D. in Speech Therapy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario. She practises in English and Persian (Farsi).
